An adventure through Cairo
Have you ever been micro bussing through Cairo? Well, if you haven't then you should, at least once. It's very amusing and you learn a lot, but try to make it on a Friday so that the streets won't be crowded and in winter so you wouldn't kill yourself from the heat:-) Now I've learned the names of the micro-bus stations. There is: Ahmad Helmy (which goes to Masr el Gedida and Nasr City), Ramsis, Aboud, Tahrir and more that I can't remember now. Weird is that in Heliopolis no loop or station for micro busses. They drop you off wherever you want but you can't come back. We spent around one and a half hours waiting for a micro bus and couldn't find any. Haram, however, is filled with micros. You should also try the Shabrawy shop (not the same one by CU), it's in an alley parallel to el Haram st. it has the best Foul Iskandarani and best Shawerma ever Ohh and guess what the brands actually mean something. So the Toyota one goes out of the area but the Volkswagen stays more locally :-)
Man it's a whole different world
Kent, let's do it again, but this time we go to Ataba, Moski, Khan el Khalili and Masr el Adima (old cairo)
Enjoy life =)
